Eleven miles north of city of Jaiper is the ancient capital of Jaiper State, Amer. The fort and palace were begun in 1592 by the Marharja Man Singh.Top: View of the fort from the valley floor. Amber Palace and Fortress as seen from valley floor. The Amber palace was built by the Kachhwajas when they rose in power under the Mughals. Man Singh I constructed the complex in a style to rival Mughal grandeur and opulence.
Amber as it exists now was built during the period of Man Singh and Jai Sing 1 and 2 in the 16th century.
