For more than 100 years visitors from all over the world have come to this unique place in Northern New Zealand. The limestone here was formed under the ocean some 30 million years ago. Over rime the earth's crust was raised. An underground stream carved its way through the rock, creating bizarre caverns. Glow worms now live on the ceiling of the cave. They have long sticky, string that snares insects attracted by the florescent light the larvae emit.
